My design for the ‘O-Six for Art’ project is based on the close relationship we human beings maintain between our rational and animal sides. These two sides of our existence are intertwined and merge through our eyes, enabling us to perceive and understand the world around us. I have chose leather as the primary material, which I have been working on for a long time in my studio in Bogotà. I have created a pair of spectacles consisting of two halves. Each of the halves represents one of the poles of human duality, rational and animal, that touch and interact with each other, but still joined together with metal rivets. Then the lenses enable us to project our essence with a unique gaze: that which makes us unique, that allows us to examine ourselves and gives us the power to get to know the world.
